Working principle

The operating principle of the side channel machines and the TBT consists in increasing the pressure of the sucked gas through the creation, in the peripheral toroidal channel, of a series of vortices determined by the centrifugal thrust of the finned rotor.

With the impeller rotating, the vanes push the gas forward and, as a result of centrifugal force, outwards.

The result is a helical motion, during which the gas undergoes a series of recompressions due to centrifugal force, resulting in a linear increase in pressure along the channel.

In the TBT, the impeller and toroidal channel are highly innovative, the result of extensive research and experimentation. The airfoil vanes of the impeller and the channel with a central core allow this machine to achieve performance close to that of volumetric blowers with rotating lobes.
