Common faults of roots pumps

2025-02-28 11:36:03

1. The starting pressure of the roots pump is too high, which causes the parts of the pump to overheat and be damaged (some mechanical booster pumps can also be started under atmospheric pressure after special design).

2. The large abrasive particles generated in the production process enter the roots pump and cause wear of the parts.

3. The pump is placed in the wrong position, for example, it is placed at an angle. The amount of oil in the lubricating oil inside the pump is not suitable.

4. The ultimate pressure is not high

(1) Pipeline and system leakage.

(2) The pump is partially leaking.

(3) The ultimate pressure of the front pole pump drops.

(4) The lubricating oil is too dirty or the grade does not match.

(5) The oil seal is worn.

(6) Air leakage at the relief valve.

5. Insufficient pumping speed

(1) The pipeline conduction capacity is insufficient.

(2) The pumping speed of the backing pump decreases.

(3) Air leakage at the relief valve.

6. The motor is overloaded

(1) The inlet pressure is too high.

(2) The end face of the rotor is in contact with the end cover on one side.

(3) The backing pump returns oil into the pump chamber.

(4) The relief valve is stuck, making the outlet too high.

7. Overheating

(1) The pumping speed of the selected backing pump is not enough, resulting in an excessive compression ratio.

(2) The inlet pressure is too high.

(3) Poor cooling.

(4) The lubricating oil of the gearbox is too high.

(5) The rotor is in contact with the pump casing.

(6) Poor lubrication of gears, bearings and oil seals.

8. Abnormal sound

(1) Poor assembly.

(2) The position of the guide gear and the rotor are offset to make the rotor collide.

(3) The entry pressure is too high.

(4) Damage to gears caused by overload or poor lubrication.

(5) Bearing wear.

9. Severe wear and tear in the early stage

(1) Poor lubricating oil.

(2) Insufficient lubricating oil.
